BLUETHUMB ART PRIZE 2022

Yaama (Hello) to all and everyone,
Bluethumb art prize 2022, I was very surprised to receive the email that gave me the exciting news that my artwork, ‘Minjerribah’, had been chosen for people’s choice award in this years Bluethumb art prize in the category of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Award. With a cash pool prize of $250,00 and according to their website is the largest and richest art competition in Australia.
The lucky winning finalist will bring home $150,00, a very nice sum to help in a struggling life of an Aboriginal artist. I could buy so much paint and canvas with that much money, maybe open my own gallery and defiantly a trip back to Kamilaroi country for some creative and spiritual connection, which is much overdue. As I believe the land is not just for my food but my identity and my spirit.
A panel of 6 judges will decide the winner and there is also a people’s choice award where you can go and vote for your favourite art/artist. Here is a shortcut to my artwork so you can have a vote which will be very much appreciated. You also have a chance to win your favourite artwork valued up to $2,000.00. It is in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Award.
